Pre-Reading: When you grow up would you like to win an important award? Have you ever heard of the Nobel Peace Prize? There is a blurb at the back giving a short history of the award and names some of the past recepients.

Post-Reading: Do we need to win an award to work for peace? Could we do any of these things right now to help create peace in the world?

Activities

Have children decide on one thing the class could do to make to create peace. Make a plan of action and carry out their idea.

For older children have them research the past winners of the Noble Peace Prize and then make posters to display in the school.
