What is Conflict Resolution? Conflicts can take many forms. Sometimes only two people are involved. Other times it may involve groups of nations and lead to war. Conflict resolution is a formal process of bringing the disputing parties together to discuss and work out a solution to their probelm. The Education World article Conflict Resolution: Four Approaches provides an excellent introduction to different strategies and gives a number of examples of successful conflict resolution programs in schools. In the classroom conflict resolution strategies will take different forms depending on the age of the students, their previous experiences, and the level of conflict in the school community.
