“I am Peace” – a book review by Tim Wolcott

of

Hands of Peace

The Genetic Approach to “A World in Peace”

A personal disclosure is in order – I’m angry more than I feel is appropriate for a peace activist.  However, this book by Zeljka Roksandic and Robert Vincent Gerard has helped me rein in my over righteous indignation.

Part of the book’s disclaimer is in order as well.  “To date, minimal scientific proof exists for certain ideas mentioned in the book.”  Nonetheless, Hands of Peace is a valuable resource for anyone wishing to discover how they can be part of the change to “A World in Peace”.  Indeed, you have more power to encourage that then you currently imagine.

This transformation involves the resetting of parts of your genetic code through so-called DNA activation which is still a hypothetical process.  That being said, most of what the authors depend on for their various processes for change is based on substantially supported scientific principles.   Hands of Peace is a self-help book for anyone who wants to “calm their mind, clean out old files and sign a contract with your mind … to let Peace come”.

The basic idea of the book is that peace in an ingredient, an energy that with intent, imagination and passion can be added everywhere.  Ms. Roksandic and Dr. Gerard affirm that Peace in your heart is when you are out of your “ego-self”.  The absence of doubts, fears, expectations and possessive desires supports your ability to be truthful and thus, a more powerful force for Peace. Moreover, they believe Peace requires constant vigilance.  Whenever Peace is taken for granted, it deteriorates.  Furthermore, the authors contend that Inner Peace can be revived and sustained through repeated proclamations of “I am Peace!”  When individuals, families and communities rekindle their inherent powers of Peace, then this energy can resonate to the entire world and beyond.

The book offers action-techniques, visualizations, meditations and narrative protocols designed to facilitate DNA activations for Peace.  Roksandic and Gerard define DNA Activation as a process of accelerating the functionality and sequencing of one’s genetic code.  They believe that your DNA can generate circumstances in your environment (reality) and with the proper re-programming,  Peace is created and sustained inside you as you link up to others to sustain Peace globally.

This reviewer has problems with some of what the authors believe such as with rising human population, goodness has been multiplying and evil aspects are decreasing.  The ecological sustainability of that belief is very suspect to me.  I also question there’s a positive purpose for global warming.  They posit that the rising temperatures are actually helping people to burn out negative energies and to purify themselves.  I think that position lacks credible evidence as well.

However, I do believe (as they do) that we are able to psychological create physical experiences in our lives and that our energy influences the actions of others around us.  Moreover, I trust that when you release anger and fear, then you are more able to create a relationship with Peace.  I certainly agree with Dr. Gerard and Ms. Roksandic that Peace begins with your self and requires reflection and deliberate actions.   This book offers practical ways of accomplishing that.

Peace has to be created, in order to be maintained.  It is the product of Faith, Strength, Energy, Will, Sympathy, Justice, Imagination and the triumph of principle.  It will never be achieved by passivity and quietism.
